HUSBAND and wife team Ray and Alison Robson of Tynemouth won the Canonbie open American pairs bowling competition on July 8 – beating Gordon Irvine and Geordie McCulloch of Annan in the final.

The beaten semi-finalists were William Adam and Kenny Richardson of Eastriggs and Liz Smith of Canonbie, who played with Bernard Jackson of Eastriggs.

Frank Wilson, match secretary, thanked everyone who helped on the day and presented the cup to the winners.
