LANGHOLM runner Iain Little moved up from his usual 800 metres distance to the 1600 metres open handicap at Morebattle Games last Saturday and powered to victory.

Little set a hot pace in the early stages from his mark of 135 metres to narrow the gap with the front markers, then settled into a steady stride. He accelerated in the closing lap to overhaul front marker Alistair Laurie (380m) of Selkirk and win by about 20 metres in 4 mins 11.50 secs.
