A WOMEN’S pairs competition played at Canonbie bowling green last Thursday was won by Jemima and Elizabeth Richardson of Newcastleton.

The weather managed to stay good enough to play without any delays and 20 women took part.

Canonbie green bowling club president Pauline Smith thanked everyone who helped to make the day a success and presented the prizes.

She is pictured above, centre, presenting the trophy to the winning pair Elizabeth Richardson and Jemima Richardson of Newcastleton, watched by runners-up Evelyn Austin and Margery Marshall of Auchencairn.
