HOUXTY BECK upset the favourite to win the Langholm Common Riding trail for owners George Burgon of Bellingham and Bill Aitchison of Wark.

Eagle Gill was second, while the favourite Silver Birch was third of the 19 runners.

The prize for first maiden hound went to Delta Star, owned by Sarah Robinson of Carlisle, with Fire Glory in second and Springfield Lass third.

Silver Birch won the previous Tuesday at Spadeadam for Sandra Mordue of Penton and last Sunday at Sewingshields was second to Marshman, owned by John and Clare Crone of Burgh-by-Sands.

Ronnie Carr of Kirkbride took first ticket in the pups last Tuesday with Polly and Gold Finger won the pups last Sunday for Edgar Baines of Cockermouth.

In the graded trails there was success last Tuesday for Carol Spark of Haltwhistle, with Sparkling Pearl. Spring Moss won for Jenny Horn last Sunday.

Linda Neale of Carlisle took first prize in the vets at Sewingshields with Eagle Gill. Castle Corrie won the graded pups for the Langholm syndicate of Mary Irving, Ian Cuthbert and Elliot Borthwick.
