WE HAVE such a wealth of flora and fauna adding interest to our beautiful Langholm countryside and yet there are those unappreciative of what is around them.

The Criminal Justice payback team, which improved the Rosevale Gardens, also put in work on the boards around the tourist information point at the Kilngreen. They work under supervision at all times.

The month of May is ‘oot’ and the May blossom on the hawthorns is also ‘oot’ but instead of casting a clout, I’m putting more on to combat the decidedly chilly weather.

Last weekend, as we returned from the Canonbie to Langholm walk, I was hoping to point out the sea of cratties which were spectacular the previous week but, like me, they’d wilted in the heat.
