Gallery marks 50 years

THIS seems to be the year for celebrating anniversaries. Here in Langholm it’s the 50th anniversary of the opening of the Scott Hay Gallery.
It was opened in April 1962 by the president of the Royal Scottish Academy, Sir William MacTaggart, who said: “This is an imaginative and brilliant conception, a forward-looking plan, which is bound to bear fruit.”
