Langholm needs more, not less, local health provision

ON OCTOBER 22, 2009 the Eskdale & Liddesdale Advertiser featured an account of a critical report on the Thomas Hope Hospital which had been commissioned by Dumfries and Galloway health board.

Morgan's leap of faith for charity

DURING 2011 Alzheimer’s Scotland Langholm branch did not hold any fundraising activities for our charity so this year we plan to organise two events for this purpose, the first being a sale of nearly-new clothes and accessories on Saturday, February 4 in the former Cherished Teddies shop, kindly lent to us by Andrew Scott. We hope you’ll come along and have a browse and perhaps find that outfit you’ve always been looking for. Please watch press and adverts for the second venture to be held later in the year.

Praise after council quickly got walk back on the right path

AT A time when many people are very quick to criticise Dumfries and Galloway council I think it is also appropriate that it should be complimented when it works hard to repair and put things right after problems have occurred.

Action was needed on broadband, not complaints

WHERE has councillor Denis Male been for three years? Yes, the broadband service in the Ewes valley is not acceptable. Even in Langholm the megabytes are not high.
