I WOULD like to thank the Eskdale & Liddesdale Advertiser and the editor for the excellent report before the election and the opportunity to thank the electors who put their trust in me.

I received a letter with personal thanks from Gavin Stevenson, Dumfries and Galloway’s chief executive, for the corporate management team for my commitment to both wards since 2001, saying not only did I make a positive impact on services but I also served the people of my wards and the region with integrity.

I apologise to all the residents of the ward for not being fit enough to call round to discuss the requirements of this region and ward.

Thanking you sincerely; your faith and trust were not misplaced.
