Community pulls together to make school fete an enjoyable success and raise £723

THROUGH your column, I would like to say a sincere thank you to all the people who helped to make the Canonbie school fete a great success.
Thank you to all the parents, grandparents, friends, children and staff who helped and attended on the day. Also thank you to all the people and businesses who donated prizes. Without all of their support, the fete would not have been such a success.
Thank you to the ambulance team who showed children and adults around the ambulance.
We were delighted to have Gordon Howe from Cochranes Nurseries of Longtown open the fete. Gordon is a very good supporter of the school and nursery.
The weather was very kind to us and the total sum of £723 was made, an excellent amount.
Pencil in the date (and sunshine) for next year, Saturday, May 25.
As we close for the summer holidays, may I take this opportunity to thank all the staff, children, parents, grandparents, friends and the community who all work hard to support the school. Have a great, hopefully “sunny” summer holiday.
