I HAVE been researching my family tree and hopefully trying to find descendants of the following people who lived in either Langholm or Canonbie areas of Dumfriesshire.

My grandfather was Mason Irving, born at 2 Drove Road, Langholm in 1896. His parents were Jemima Anderson Dickson or Dixon, born in Canonbie 1872 and died 1946; and his father was John Irving born 1868.

Mason had a brother called John, who was born at 2 Drove Road, 29 January 1899. Mason's grandfather was John Irving born 1841 Bogfoot, Ewes and died 3 July 1902 in Greenhead, Langholm, and his grandmother was Clementina Hogg, born 1844 and who died at 47 Caroline Street in 1914.

They had children named Richard Irving (who had a daughter Clementina who died in 1944 and is buried with her father Richard and her mother Margaret Wallace), John Irving 1868, and Janet Gowenlock Irving born 1876.
