Hall’s well as Robert dances to his own tune

GILNOCKIE Hall was the setting for a great dance last Friday. I don't know what it is about this great wee venue but there is always a lovely, friendly and happy atmosphere.

Robert Dickson, centre, thanks the members of the Iain MacPhail Scottish Broadcasting Band for his tune at the Gilnockie Hall dance

Dancers enjoyed the fantastic music of Iain MacPhail and his Scottish Broadcasting Band and the band certainly enjoyed playing for everyone, with Iain asking to be invited back.

According to Nessie Grant, it was like the auld days at Gilnockie. No-one was happier than Robert Dickson who heard his specially-composed tune for the first time, Iain MacPhail's Compliments to Robert Dickson, a cracking march.

In return, Robert gave Iain a special bottle of malt whisky and presented Deryn with a bouquet of flowers. A super night – and there will be more.
