FOR the next couple of weeks, with the Queen’s diamond jubilee upon us, we have received two photos from Jean Waldie (McMillan) of Greenlaw of children taking part in a fancy dress parade on the Scholars’ Field in 1935 to celebrate George V’s silver jubilee.
This week’s photo is of all the children who later paraded to the Castleholm.
In the photo are left to right: three Maxwell brothers, Emily Scott, Betty Edgar, Cissie Wilson, Jean McMillan, Freda Mullinson, Elsie Telford and Jim Johnstone.
Jean has given us the women’s maiden names.
