THIS picture is again from Angus Hoggart in Langholm. It is taken from an earlier edition of the E&L from March 15, 1946.

The photo is of officials of the Royal British Legion at a reunion dinner in the Douglas Hotel.

Billy Elliot came into the office last week and gave us names for the previous week’s picture of the Westerkirk Women’s Guild work party in 1946.

The names of the women are, back row, left to right, Mrs Crawford, Burnfoot; Mrs Hogg, Lyneholm; Mrs Davidson, Courlaw; Mrs Bell, Kirktonhill; Mrs Armstrong, Crag View.

Centre row, left to right, Mrs Glendinning, Esk Cottage; Miss Little, Waulk Mill; Mrs M Bell, Billholm Shiel; Miss J Pringle, Bonese; Mrs Scott, Billholm Cottage; Mrs Dalgleish, Enzieholm; Mrs Nichol, Bonese; Mrs Patterson, Burnfoot.
