WITH Common Riding day only one day away, we’re looking at our final Boys’ Common Riding photo.

Eskdaille Street Boys’ Common Riding in the 1960s

We know this photo was taken in the 1960s but we’re unsure exactly in which year.

The boys in the picture are standing on what was called the Scholars’ field but known to us now as Academy Place.

We are unsure of the names of the boys in the picture, apart from Ian Borthwick holding the barley banna and Neil Davidson on the far right.
