For the next two weeks we will be showing photos brought into the office by Ian Lindsay of Rowanburn.
This picture is of the pupils of Langholm Academy boys’ section in 1936.
From left to right are Johnny Barnfather, Bobby Rae, Harry Erskine, Roy Stuart, Tom Cuthbertson, Jim Dalgleish, Arthur Kay, Jim Morrison, Johnny Richardson, Ronnie Mowbray, Jim Irving, John Young, Jim Robinson and John Armstrong.

We received three calls last week about last week’s picture of the sports class. We have been told by Kenneth Pool, Roger Maxwell and Graham Weatherstone that the picture is of pupils from Lockerbie Academy in 1974/75.
The teacher was Harry Reid and the pupils were about 13/14 years old. Graham, a PE teacher at Lockerbie Academy in 1973, said the pupils were the regional athletics team.
Roger told us the pupil on the back row, third from the right, is Finlay Grieve.
So how did the picture of Lockerbie Academy end up in Langholm Academy’s archive centre?
