150 YEARS Mysterious loss A pocket book, containing the sum of £64 in bank notes, was lost between Langholm and Wauchope school-house on the morning of Thursday, the 6th instant.
100 YEARS
Continuation class social
On Friday evening the close of the continuation classes was marked by a social gathering. Some 180 persons were present in the Temperance Hall, which was beautifully decorated for the occasion by a committee of ladies, and where a most enjoyable evening was spent.
50 YEARS
Glenzier fire
Langholm Fire Brigade was called out shortly after mid-day on Wednesday to deal with an outbreak of fire, which occurred in Glenzier School-house occupied by Mr. and Mrs. Gibson.
25 YEARS
Unruly supporters
The irresponsible actions of a few youth supporting one of the visiting teams, marred what was otherwise an extremely successful and enjoyable Supper Dance competition on Sunday and might well put the whole question of competitive disco dancing by Langholm Youth Club in jeopardy.
