WITH 100 years' service to the Langholm Operatic & Dramatic Society between them, Marion Pool and Charlie Edgar were awarded life membership of the society in 1997.

Certificates, specially designed by fellow member Brenda Morrison, were presented to the pair by LAODS president Alan Weatherstone at the last night party of Me and My Girl production.

Earlier on stage Alex Pool, who was the society's representative on the National Operatic & Dramatic Association, had presented association medals to mark the 50 years.

A 25-year medal was presented to Gaye Graham and Betty Edgar received a 40-year bar.

In last weeks Down Memory Lane there were missing names from the Langholm primary pupils photograph taken in 1952/53 Janette Lamont (Davidson) said this was her class and she is in the picture. She though the missing names are: from left to right, back row (1) Neil Douglas - Arrisgill, (3) Tommy Elliot, (7) Jock Anderson - Crown Hotel; second row from back: (2) George Ellwood, third row: (4) Evelyn Kerr, (7) Anne Thornton - Station House, (8) Janette Lamont; front row: (7) William Grieve, (9) John Dunn.
