David Hogg of Caroline Street, Langholm, brought in the photo which was found by his partner Anastatia Hattersley of Forfar (formerly Langholm) while she was looking through some old Common Riding photos.

Anastatia was born in Langholm. Her father was in the King's Own Royal West Kents, stationed at the Castleholm during World War Two. His name was Pte Peter Tyrrel. Her mother was Dora (nee Carnagie).

Anastatia was baptised in Erskine church on the same day as her cousin Margaret Scott on June 3, 1941. She is back in Langholm for a visit for the Common Riding.

If you have any information about the photo or you have any old photos you would like us to publish, hand them in at our High Street office, email catherine.greer@cnmedia.co.uk or ring 013873 80012.
