Down Memory Lane

AFTER our spread in last week’s newspaper of Boys’ Common Ridings, we received another from Anne Dickie (née Barnfather), who reckons it was of the Mary Street boys in 1955 or 1956.
Left to right, front row, are Billy Smith with the thistle, Eric Laidlaw, Hector Barnfather with the flag, William Steele with the crown, Roddy Innes, Philip Harkness and Ronald Laidlaw.
There are two faces on the back row: Maxwell Innes and Ian Innes holding the barley banna.
The weather must have been changeable going by what the boys have on their feet, ranging from plimsolls to wellies, and what with the big puddles opposite the Masonic buildings.
If you have any more pictures, please send them in. We will use them and others we have already featured but with the names in this time.
