WE think this Common Riding photo was taken in 1955.
We have some of the names, starting at the back of the parade and working forward, left to right, are: Janette Ritchie, John Graham, Betty Tweddle, Ian Little, Marion Douglas, Margaret Lawson, Helen Nixon, Janet Warwick, Peter Jacques, Jean Little, Alice Graham, Bert Donaldson, Margaret Boyes, Desmond Irving, Jean Murray, Irving Foster, Ann Reid, Eleanor Carmichael, Margaret Tweddle, Hilda Morrison, Avril Grieve, Betty Hope, Marion Wilson.
We hope you will enjoy putting the names to the faces.
We have had a really good response for boys’ Common Riding photos, so please continue to bring them in. We are still looking for ones of the Cornets’ houses and how they were decorated every year.
There are a couple of corrections to last week’s photo. The first woman on the second row was not Brenda Morrison but her cousin Marianne Ewart of Peebles and the man on the second row is David Gall, not Alister Gall.
