Down memory lane

AFTER recently publishing a photo of the Canonbie Dramatic Society, we had a great response, so we thought we’d try with this one.
It came from the Cumberland News archives but, unlike the previous one, we have no name of the play being put on. It is not the same play because this one has a nurse, along with Christmas decorations and a butler.
If anyone recognises themselves or can put a date to the play, we’d be grateful.
Last week’s photo of the Newcastleton fancy dress encouraged one reader to give some of the names, including the men standing in the background, with their backs to us.
The children at the front in fancy dress are, left to right, Brian Hetherington, ?, Ian Gibson, John Maxwell, Alan (Hedgy) Ewart, ?.
