Turbines’ effect on water

PEOPLE living in upper Liddesdale affected by a proposal for wind turbines at Windy Edge have been asked questions about their water supplies.

Community councillor Katie Neasham said: “Someone has been round the houses to find out where our water comes from. He said it was because of all the digging for the concrete bases. It could interfere with the watercourses.”

Fellow resident Malcolm McGregor said this was 10 days after they received a letter from developer Infinis saying they were postponing doing anything.

He said the man was a hydrologist commissioned by Infinis to ask about private water supplies to the households. He added that at the end of March the company registered Windy Edge Windfarm Ltd with Companies House.
