Summer’s washout officially confirmed

FIGURES released by the Met Office have confirmed what everyone in Eskdale and Liddesdale has suspected – last summer was a washout.
Flooding on the B709 in Bentpath was the result of more than 200mm of rain falling in August
Eskdalemuir recorded 245.6mm of rain in June, the wettest month of the year, and the two months which followed were little better. In July there were 203mm and in August there were 202.4mm.
