AN EVENING of beautiful music awaits as the Royal Scottish National Orchestra returns to the Buccleuch Centre in Langholm with a selection of sumptuous string classics.

A Rubbish! exhibition has opened in Dumfries Museum and runs until December 8. It has been created by the DG Zero Waste volunteer programme in partnership with the museum to mark the European week of waste reduction next week.

Go along to the Gracefield Craft Shop in Dumfries this Saturday to view an exciting new collection of hand-made crafts with a special Christmas focus this year on textiles.

The world premiere of what is believed to be the first performance in 450 years of the music of the recently discovered Hawick Missal fragment, a section of a 12th century medieval manuscript, will take place at the Tower Mill in Hawick next Wednesday.

Dumfries Choral Society perform works by two opera giants in a concert at the Easterbrook Hall in Dumfries this Sunday.

The Overtones perform at the Sands Centre, Carlisle this Sunday. The five singers, who have learned their craft through years of performing together, stage a pitch-perfect show which is, arguably, the most entertaining and enjoyable concert of the year.
