School sale raises £1,400

THE Newcastleton school partnership held a Christmas fair in the village hall last Friday and raised a total of £1,418.
The annual fair was again well supported and the children, teachers and helpers were kept busy on a wide variety of stalls, games and competitions in the packed hall.
The highlight of the evening was when Santa arrived to hand out gifts to the youngsters.
The money raised is used for the benefit of the pupils and goes towards special events and bus trips.
