SNP to lead Borders coalition

THE Scottish Borders council will be run by an Independent, SNP and Liberal Democrat administration.
Independent councillor David Parker, who led the council for nine years, remains council leader and councillor Graham Garvie, Liberal Democrat, will be the convener. SNP councillor John Mitchell will be deputy council leader with responsibility for finance.
