Lion of Langholm is a roaring success

PRESIDENT Jim Thomson welcomed about 60 members and guests to the Langholm Probus Club meeting which heard from Billy Steele, former Langholm rugby player, who was capped for Scotland and on the British Lions tours to South Africa, New Zealand and Argentina.

Billy said his sporting hero as a lad was Jim Tuton, the PE teacher at Langholm Academy, who encouraged him as he learned his ball and running skills.
