A NURSE from Langholm who systematically stole thousands of pounds from care home patients to fund her cocaine habit has been jailed for seven months.

Kelly Watson was highly regarded and trusted by the patients at the Merseyside home and described “as caring and compassionate”.

Watson, 32, who returned to her family home in Townhead, Langholm after her arrest last August, pleaded guilty to seven theft offences and one of fraud.

Robert Haygarth, defending, said: “She feels disgusted with herself for what she did and recognises what she did was wholly wrong.”
