Hunger petition

MORE than 2.5 million children die every year due to hunger. Charities like Save the Children are providing life-saving help in countries which need it most.

A lack of nutritious food holds back millions of children. Every hour of every single day 300 children die because of malnutrition. For others, although they may survive, they are unable to thrive.

It doesn’t have to be like this.

Now that the Olympics have drawn to a close, Prime Minister David Cameron will host a global hunger summit to mark the start of a combined effort to end the crisis of childhood malnutrition.

I’m asking the people of Dumfries and Galloway to call on David Cameron to put world hunger at the centre of the G8 agenda next year.

Please sign the petition at savethechildren.org.uk. Thank you
