Holm show called off

THE Holm show in Newcastleton, due to have taken place on Saturday, August 25, has fallen victim to the weather and has been cancelled.
Secretary Sandra Hope said the hay had not yet been taken off the showfield because of the excessive rainfall in the past few months and they could not risk public safety when it was in such a horrendous state.
The other problem was that many farmers were behind with their work and if there was a dry spell, they would want to get on with that rather than do a show.
