Fire safety check

Householders are being encouraged to sign up to get a free home safety check from firefighters.
Almost 340 people in Dumfries and Galloway signed up during a recent drive. Of the 110 house fires in the region in 2010-11, more than 40 did not have working smoke alarms or have an alarm at all. To get a home check, text FIRE to 61611 or free phone 0808 1003141.
