Festival quieter than usual on the crime front

SEVERAL minor drunken scuffles and one arrest for breach of the peace at the Newcastleton traditional music festival were reported by the police.
PC Brian Murray said the weekend was quieter than usual, partly because of the weather and the event being a week earlier.
