Cutting cake for canine centre

THE Dumfries and Galloway Canine Rescue Centre is celebrating its ninth anniversary.
Since it was created, the Glencaple-based centre and kennels have rehomed more than 2,700 dogs.
The centre’s latest appeal is to pay the vet bills for a dog called Hannah, a black Labrador puppy who has some medical problems. A team of volunteers from the centre will be taking part in the Crossmichael Marathon on March 25 to raise funds through sponsorship.
Cutting the canine birthday cake recently were marathon team members Karen “High Kicker” Cunningham from Tarff, Anna “Woolly Wonder” Nielsen from Parton, Diana “Still Game” Lord from Beeswing, Terry-Ann “Super Star” Cinderby from Kirkgunzeon and Melissa “Pocket Rocket” Macrae from Lochanhead.
They will be joined by friends and staff from Bard Vets in Dumfries in their running challenge. To support the rescue centre team, visit www.caninerescue.co.uk.
