Cornet will not wear second jubilee sash

THE 2012 Langholm Cornet will not be wearing a second sash to celebrate the Queen’s diamond jubilee.
In 1897 Cornet David Irving wore two sashes, the Common Riding sash and a tartan sash marking Queen Victoria's diamond jubilee
The Cornet in 1897, David Irving, wore two sashes to mark Queen Victoria’s diamond jubilee but at last week’s Common Riding committee, it was pointed out that this should have been raised at the public meeting.
