CATHERINE Tod of Westerkirk WRI scooped the top prize at the Eskdale Group SWRI event in Langholm day centre last Saturday.

Catherine’s Swiss roll beat eight other entries and it was a hard decision for judge Margaret Railton, with the quality of entries so high. The judge was joined by group chairman Margaret Sanderson to present the challenge cup to the winner.

The annual coffee morning raised £317 for the group and the money will go into the funds.

Canonbie WRI looked after the raffle and admission, with Ewes on the stalls of bric-a-brac, cake and candy and tombola. Westerkirk were in charge of the refreshments.
