Braving zipwire for cash

GILLIAN Lamont, the secretary of Canonbie flower show, is doing a zipwire slide from Stoneyholm over the River Eden into Rickerby Park in Carlisle on May 27 in aid of Eden Valley Hospice.

Gillian said: “They do a fantastic job at Eden Valley Hospice and it benefits so many people in this area so I hope for plenty of support.
“Maybe I’m crazy doing this but I think it will be fun and hope I can raise much-needed funds for the hospice.”
