Anne hosts ‘final fling’

ARTIST Anne Donald is hosting her ‘final fling’ in Langholm this summer by opening a studio in her waterside home and inviting everyone to view and, hopefully, buy her work.
Anne, who lives at Eldon, is moving to Bute and, along with friend and neighbour Joy Turnbull, is opening her house every Saturday and Sunday from 11am to 5pm until the end of August.
In Our Town is a lively series of performances, workshops and activities, generating a vibrant spark of music, colour and fun in Dumfries High Street as part of the Dumfries & Galloway Arts Festival.
Rediscover is a festival of free events celebrating literacy through listening, talking, reading and writing taking place over the weekend of September 8 and 9 in Dumfries and Galloway.
Patterns of a Still Life by Patricia Gilliot is a new exhibition at the Gracefield Café in Dumfries.
A new exhibition has opened at Borders Textile Towerhouse in Hawick. It showcases work by members of the New Road Quilters, a group which was formed in 2004 with only five members and one experienced quilter who provided tuition so that the others could learn the various techniques of patchwork and quilting.
Organisers of Youth Beatz have announced that UK chart star Tinchy Stryder will perform on the main stage this year.
