All things white and beautiful in winter

HEAVY snowfall last Friday transformed Eskdale into a winter wonderland.
But it was no fun for drivers trying to get home from work during the afternoon and all the weekend’s sporting fixtures for the local sides were cancelled.
There was great anticipation among the children who went home early from school and Saturday dawned bright and clear and the valley sparkled white in the sunshine.
There were plenty of sledges being brought out and it wasn’t only the kids who were enjoying racing down the hills.
