THE Langholm, Eskdalemuir, Westerkirk and Ewes church fete took place last Sunday in the grounds of the parish church at Langholm and raised the excellent sum of £2,850.
Fortunately after several days of rain it was fine and dry for the fundraiser and there was good public support.
There were various stalls and games, including the popular Baptise the Minister, where the Rev Scott McCarthy was soaked with wet sponges.
The bouncy castle attracted the youngsters, and there was music from both the Town and Pipe Bands.
Cream teas were served in the church and there was a barbecue.
As a thank you to the public for helping to raise the money for the new church heating system, free glasses of Pimms were served.
The duck race winners are; 1 Alex Christie, Langholm; 2 Joyce Grierson, Galashiels and 3 Evan Sommerville, Dumfries.
