This year’s annual Christmas card winner for Eskdale, Kelsey Brannan, receives her certificate and prize from David Mundell MP

Kelsey Brannan of Langholm primary school was the Eskdale winner of an art competition run by the Dumfriesshire, Clydesdale and Tweeddale MP.

Each year Mr Mundell organises a competition for primary schoolchildren in his massive constituency, with the winning entries being used on his annual Christmas card – including one which goes to the prime minister.

This year there were more than 550 entries, with the overall winner getting a bike and four regional winners each receiving a £25 voucher. The entries were judged by players from Annan FC.

Mr Mundell said: “The standard of entries was very high and gave the judges a hard job in choosing the winners. Each year the quality of designs grows and I never cease to be amazed by the great artistic talent shown.”
