Margaret was pleased she was able to present the money to the Learning Base.

She said: "We have wound up the Bonnie Langholm committee and this money is what was left in the funds.

"It's because the staff are so keen to develop the pupils' knowledge of planting and horticultural skills that myself and Lesley McCartney, former Bonnie Langholm treasurer, decided to give the money to them.

"We wish them all the best and hope the funds will help further their horticultural ambitions.

"They have already extended the number of hanging year they have planted this year so maybe next year they can increase that number again."

The staff and pupils put on a delicious afternoon tea for Margaret to enjoy as a way of saying thank you and to talk about their plans for the year ahead.
