Gillian and Dennis Cockburn say farewell to Langholm and their chocolate shop as they head south to Poulton-le-Fylde

They said: "We would like to thank all our customers for their support over the years. Abbotts Chocolates will still be sold in the shop when Margaret Railton moves to the premises with her own business. We wish Margaret all the best and hope she is a big success and as happy in the shop as we were."

The production of the chocolates is going to be relocated to Fleetwood. Gillian and Dennis are moving to Poulton-le Fylde, a few miles from the production units where they will make the chocolates. They will continue to sell their chocolates at various events and through their online shop www.abbottschocolates.co.uk. Customers can also contact them at thechocolateman@abbottschocolates.co.uk, Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.

The couple met in 1977 and moved to Blackpool. They moved to Langholm 14 years ago to run the Border House B&B and were there for 12 years. Alongside the guest house, they produced and sold their own chocolates and for the last four years have sold their well-loved chocolates from Abbotts Chocolates shop.

They celebrated their Ruby Wedding on Easter Sunday.

Dennis said: "The main reason we are moving to Poulton is to be near the sea. I find my asthma improves with the sea air and we have family and friends in the area."
