Buildings baseline standard

COUNCILLORS in Annandale and Eskdale have been discussing the facilities provided in the district by public and private halls and other premises which can be used by communities.

The council wants to set a baseline standard against which it can assess how the various buildings measure up on factors such as availability, accessibility and affordability.

The buildings are assessed depending on the size of the main hall, whether there are meeting rooms, a stage, kitchen, toilets, including disabled toilets and storage.
