A PUBLIC meeting is being held in Lockerbie town hall on Wednesday, September 10 to discuss the proposed post office closures in Annandale and Eskdale.

The meeting, which starts at 7pm, will also discuss the outreach services being recommended for some communities.

It was revealed last week by Post Office Ltd that Langholm, Rowanburn and Canonbie post offices were all unaffected by closures. However, outreach services are planned for the post offices at Ivy Cottage, Bentpath and Lynwood, Eskdalemuir.

The public consultation on the area plan proposed for Edinburgh, the Lothians and South of Scotland runs until September 29.
