Little Shop of Horrors posters ripped down

LANGHOLM’S newest musical theatre group suffered a set-back when posters promoting their show were torn down recently.

Vandals ripped down the posters that had been put up along the A7

The posters were placed along the A7 road leading into the town, promoting the musical Little Shop of Horrors that runs for three nights at the Buccleuch Centre during the Langholm & Eskdale music and arts festival.

The musical features young people from Langholm and is directed by Judith Johnson.

Producer Chris Jones said: “It’s disappointing that a thoughtless act by someone spoils the effort to let as many people as possible know about the show.

“The commitment by the actors and production team to make this show a success has been fantastic. Langholm should be proud of the musical talent it has and we’re confident that this’ll be a show to remember.

“Little Shop of Horrors recently ran in the West End and Judith and I were delighted to have been granted the performing rights for Langholm.

“Running for three nights is a big undertaking so we need to get as many people as possible to come to see the show.

“With the recent A7 road closure, it’s important to put the town back on the map. The posters are being replaced and hopefully they’ll stay there to give Langholm the opportunity to make a hit of the show.”
