Act upon ideas for Market Place

AS A resident, I sincerely hope that there may be someone out there in authority who is capable of instigating action towards implementing those ideas and concept proposed in Alan Williams letter (Vision of inviting open townscape) last week.
The points made by him were clear and concise and refreshing in their perception of what could transform this blight of a building situated in the centre of our town.
I personally believe that for anyone travelling north on the A7, Langholm does not present itself as a prospective stopping-off point for tourists/visitors. Sadly, before even reaching the town centre the eyesores of partially developed grounds and buildings are discouraging, to say the least.
The creation of an open, pleasing to the eye area around the town hall, affording additional parking could work wonders. The costs involved in such a project cannot be considered too high when trade would undoubtably benefit from such a change.
Sad to say, I do not feel that the operation of a limited bus service from the Kilngreen back to the Market Place during the summer is necessarily appealing to visitors.
I have no doubt that local people would support any move on the part of the powers that be to give serious consideration to Mr Williams' vision for enhancing an otherwise decaying part of the town centre.
