Trade in lambs is tremendous
THE Cumberland & Dumfriesshire Farmers Mart had forward 53 prime cattle, two young bulls, 47 OTM cattle, 6,867 prime lambs and 8,942 cast ewes and rams at the weekly sale at Longtown on Thursday, November 3.

A worry for store lambs
AS ALL the main sales have come to an end, the store sales on Tuesdays and prime sales on Thursdays still attract massive numbers, with trade being as good last week as it has been this season and fat lambs on Thursday averaging 186p/kg (see report).

Record numbers
AS THE sheep numbers at Longtown keep pouring in as often as the rain pours down, we witnessed record numbers go through on two days last week, with trade on both days being the best seen all week.

We have been at our peak
