Xmas trade is buoyant
Last updated at 09:25, Thursday, 22 December 2011
AS WE head toward Christmas, the numbers on Thursday continue to pour in. Last week 8,200 ewes and 7,400 lambs passed through on one of the busiest days of the year.
Trade for all classes was buoyant, with averages as expected.
We shall continue our weekly sales next Thursday, December 29 and Thursday, January 5 with store sheep also on these days and store cattle on the latter.
Our annual cast tup sale, accompanied by store hoggs of all classes and in-lamb sheep, will be held on Tuesday, January 10.
We look forward to the new year with optimism as prices look set to remain strong.
May we take this opportunity to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year.
