MPs wade in to milk price fight

TWO of the area’s MPs have intervened for dairy farmers fighting a further cut in the prices paid for their milk.

After meeting NFUS president Nigel Miller, Berwickshire, Roxburgh and Selkirk MP Michael Moore said: “I am deeply concerned that processors have been cutting prices at the farm gate and forcing farmers to sell their milk at below-cost prices.
