Best in the region for all to enjoy at show

THOUSANDS of visitors were undeterred by torrential rain at Dumfries show last Saturday when the best of the region’s livestock and other produce competed with one another for the top titles.

Visitors were able to view the best that this region as well as others in southern Scotland and northern England are able to produce on farms and other rural enterprises.

Despite a number of setbacks in the agricultural industry over the past year, including foot and mouth and bluetongue, those in the farming and rural industries continue to produce the kind of quality that makes them among the best in the UK and Europe.

As well as seeing the livestock, visitors enjoyed food and cookery demonstrations, crafts and displays and were able to browse the many dozens of tradestands which support the show every year.
